Drilling Guide with Dust Catcher
thingiverse
This tool is designed to help drill holes perpendicularly into surfaces like walls while minimizing dust build-up. It features a guide tube with a dust catcher slot, allowing dust to fall out of the drill flutes and into the catcher. This makes it easy to install drywall anchors without moving furniture or creating a mess. The guide tube has two crosshair slots on the edges for aligning its center (as shown in photos). The ledge for your finger and the dust catcher should ideally be larger, but even if your print warps slightly, most of the dust will still end up in the bucket. The hole is designed to accommodate a 1/4" drill bit. This part was created using Autodesk Fusion 360, and multiple CAD formats are provided for editing based on different sizes or scaling needs. It can be printed on a Makerbot Replicator 2 at low quality for the fastest print time, with no need for support when the tube is printed vertically.
