Drilling guide/press
thingiverse
I needed to drill into a door without going through the side of it. I wasn't willing to pay £30 for something that others didn't like, so I took matters into my own hands. Drilling guide ... this version is specifically designed for a Bosch with a 43mm diameter collar and alignment blocks at 90 degrees around the collar. The FreeCad file is attached, allowing you to modify the gantry to fit your drill perfectly. If time allows, I will add a support system to ensure the rear of the drill remains perfectly aligned. I was fortunate to have an 8mm smooth rod spare from another project. You'll need some thread cutting bits and bolts/grub screws - feel free to choose your own sizes. * UPDATE 2018 12 19 * I've added an alignment disk that sits in the base. When your 8mm drill passes through the 8mm hole without disturbing the disk, you know you have a true axis. The gantry has been modified with three fixing points and grub screw holes for added flexibility.
