To drill symmetrically spaced holes in a prepared blank, I designed a drilling fixture that incorporates a keyed table and clamping block for accurate hole positioning. The first hole is located using the plastic model of the finished part, while subsequent holes are determined by rotating the clamping block within the table. A center drill initiates each hole, followed by jobber drills to achieve the desired size.
