Drill. XCB-105-2959. 400 BCE-100 CE. XCB-105 Adamagan, meaning place of walrus hunters in Aleut, dominates Morzhovoi Bay on the western Alaska Peninsula. This massive village boasts multiple occupations. At its peak from 400 BCE to 100 CE, it was the largest Arctic village with an estimated population of 1000 people. Other occupations include limited periods from 2200-1700 BCE, 1000-600 BCE, and 900-1100 CE. The Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts are a result of research grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner leads the project as Principal Investigator. Scanning was done using either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i. Geomagic or Polyworks software processed the scans. For texture in Geomagic Wrap, 2-8 photos were used. Original digitizing work was conducted at the IVL on Id. St. Univ.'s campus. Subsequent processing and publication were completed by Global Digital Heritage.
