DRILL PRESS TAPPING FIXTURE
thingiverse
I designed a DIY tapping fixture for my drill press to simplify threading a large number of holes with an M6 tap, eliminating the need to do them all by hand. A few examples of similar fixtures online inspired me to create this one. The 3D printed sleeve proved crucial in making this setup highly effective. With it, I was able to thread 38 holes in under an hour, each hole perfectly clean and square. A 5/8" round steel rod forms the shaft, which I machined to fit snugly into my drill chuck. The handle is a 3/8" round bar that I bent into shape and fitted with a 3D printed knob.
