Drill Press Shaft Collar

I bought a Wen table top drill press and quickly realized I wanted a floor standing model and table space is a premium in my workshop. So I pulled out the factory shaft and replaced it with a standard 2-3/8" (60.325mm) corner fence post from the hardware store. The original pipe was 2.25" so it was already close and only needed a couple things hogged out to accept the larger pipe. One thing that never worked well on the original pipe were the 2 locking rings to how the "rack" on the side which allows the table to worm up and down. They were always loose no matter how had I tightened them. So I made some new collars from scratch with a slot cut out in them to accept the size of the rack and made them 2 parts for easy installation and servicing if need be. They've been in service for months and work rock solid and are much firmer than the stock slip collars.

Print Settings

Printer:

Qidi Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

50

Filament:
Generic PETG
Black

Category: Machine Tools
