Drill press height adjustment handle
thingiverse
Heyas, Just scored an old Sontax 16 speed drill press, but the height adjustment handle was busted. The handle was in pieces, so it came off and into CAD it went. I printed it at an angle with layer lines spanning the length of the part to give it more strength. I printed again, flipping it over, so vapor smoothing made the seen surface smooth and shiny, not the back surface. The original had a pressed metal insert, so I pressed it in with my bench vice, reaming the grub screw hole just a tad to fit right. It all fits together well and works on the first try! Not overly complex, but I'm really proud of myself - this is my second model in Fusion 360. I've been using Sketchup for ages now, and it's not the best, so I wanted to learn Fusion. My last project (not here) was my first Fusion model; it's slightly more complicated than this one and had me stumped on how to use Fusion. Still getting the hang of it, learning the ropes, but I'm getting better - this model is way cleaner! Looking forward to more complex models that are functional!
