Drill Press Heat-Insert Adapter
thingiverse
Hi, makers! This project is in two parts, with the other part available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4440285. I've had this affordable drill press stand for some time, but it was damaged - the tightening lugs broke off. I needed a way to drill with my Dremel, so I designed an adapter that fits snugly into the 43mm hole of the press with a thread in the center to take the threaded part of the Dremel. I also use heated insert huts and a soldering iron. I realized that I could adapt the Dremel plate to hold a bracket for the soldering iron, allowing me to insert a heated nut. It was easier to fit the adapter into the plate than it was to attach the plate to the drill press. First, screw the back holder to the adapter, then fit the soldering iron with the front holder. My solder iron has a diameter of 19mm across its handle. Extras: * 6 heated screw inserts (3mm x 3mm x 4mm), with two for the adapter and four for the back holder * 6 M3 screws, ranging from 10 to 18mm in length
