Drill Press Centering Aid

Drill Press Centering Aid

After utilizing the center aid tool by Connorus (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:725344), I discovered that my drill press was not drilling holes exactly at the center of my parts. To achieve precise hole placement, I created a version specifically for my drill press. The device employs 1/4 inch bolts to secure the arms and two 5/8 inch bolts to attach it to my drill press. The mounting holes are spaced 9 inches apart on center or you can utilize any available clamps. If your table configuration differs, I have included a Sketchup file for modification as needed. To align the bit, simply clamp it with the arms and lock the base into place. I designed the device with puzzle pieces to accommodate the Simple Metal. The parts fit snugly together but require shaving down to fit perfectly. Even if you have a larger printer capable of printing in one piece, I recommend leaving it assembled as is so that you can replace the middle section if necessary.
