I constructed a mount to repurpose an affordable digital caliper as a digital readout (DRO) on my drill press. The machine in question is an HBM 16 hobby drill press, which I acquired online at www.hbm-machines.com. The quill diameter of the press measures 55 millimeters exactly. To implement this system, I made use of a low-cost caliper sourced from eBay through a search for "digital plastic caliper."
