Drill Master 1/4" Trim Router Plate
thingiverse
This is a new plate for the Drill Master 1/4" Trim Router sold by Harbor Freight Tools. My trim router had several problems from the factory and I'll explain how I fixed each of them below. - The plate was not flat (this print solves that) - The plate support was not tight (four tiny washers solved that) - The plate had play after it was tight (electrical tape solved that) This print is a replacement plate for the router. Mine came with a warped plate from the factory. This 3D model makes a new one that's flat. Unfortunately, it's not clear like the original, but the original gets gummed up with saw dust pretty quickly anyway. Out of the box, the plate support also didn't tighten very well. I added a couple small washers as shims. These allowed the screw to tighten without bending out of shape. These could also be 3D printed but I added the washers because I had them sitting around. See picture. Once I had the screws tightening, the base would lock securely but it had a little play in it. To take up the extra space I lined the inside edge of the support with black electrical tape. I used the height of two strips to get it tight and remove the wobble. With the tape and the washers the guide plate now fits tightly.
