Drill Handle

Drill Handle

thingiverse

I stumbled upon this hand auger drill at a church thrift store, and it had an interesting wrapping around the handle made from masking tape. The wood handle had apparently vanished into the past, leaving behind only remnants of its existence. Rather than opting for a two-piece design with a clamshell configuration, I decided to go with a single piece construction. Due to limitations on my three-D printer, I angled the slot instead of having it run horizontally. Before starting the project, I had created a test piece and discovered that my Lulzbot could handle an overhang of 65 degrees. As a result, I positioned the slot at a 25-degree angle off from being horizontal. Perhaps in the future, I can create a complementary piece to fill this slot.
