OVERVIEW This collection of 8 distinct drill bits is ready for use in your renders, animations, and games. Each drill bit features three materials: clean, used, and dirty. This versatility allows you to employ the drill bit in various environments. For example: In a factory setting (clean) In a workshop environment (used) In a highly polluted area or post-apocalyptic scenes (dirty) CONTENT The package includes the following drill bits, listed from left to right: Forstner Step drill Masonry Countersink Auger Twist Twist long Lip and spur TECHNICAL DETAILS The modeling of each drill bit is Quad-based, eliminating the need for retopology or remeshing. Vertex Counts: Low Resolution - High Resolution Forstner: 711 - 2,824 Step drill: 1,610 - 6,372 Masonry: 3,680 - 14,644 Countersink: 613 - 2,410 Auger: 4,236 - 16,906 Twist: 1,442 - 5,762 Twist long: 1,728 - 6,842 Lip and spur: 3,593 - 14,308 In the low resolution model, all 24 drill bits have a total vertex count of 52,839, which equates to 105,420 polygons. In the high resolution model, this number increases to 210,204 vertices, resulting in 420,000 polygons. TEXTURES The textures were created using Substance Painter and are available in a 2K resolution of 2048 x 2048 pixels. The Base Color, Metallic, Roughness, and Displacement textures range from 0.5 to 1.5 MB each, while the Normal Maps vary between 2.5 and 3 MB. The total texture size is approximately 127 MB. FORMATS The models are available for download in Autodesk FBX and Blender formats. USE AS FBX To use the drill bits in the background of your scene, import the low resolution model from its respective folder into your 3D software. For foreground elements, import the high resolution model from the same folder. The embedded textures should be automatically recognized. If this is not the case, refer to the Material_setup PDF for instructions on rebuilding the materials. USE IN BLENDER To use the drill bits in Blender, navigate to File>Append or File>Link and select the .blend file containing all the drill bits. Choose your desired drill bit from the Collection panel. To adjust the resolution, modify the Viewport and Render Level of the Subdivision Surface Modifier in the Properties panel. If you wish to remove a drill bit, delete it with X and then purge the associated textures by selecting File>Clean Up and choosing Purge All multiple times.
