Drill bit sharpener
pinshape
I've researched numerous existing approaches to drill bit sharpening but none of them resonated with me. I'm drawn to straightforward and functional designs, which is why I created this one-piece guide for sharpening drill bits on a Dremel or similar rotary tool. This design includes three guides: 90, 118, and 135 degrees. The majority of users will require the 118-degree guide, and for that reason, the adapter comes in two sizes to accommodate both small and large diameter drills, as well as different diameters in cutting/grinding disks. The adapter prints seamlessly without support and is threaded to screw directly onto the Dremel (I've tested it on Dremel 285, 8000, and generic Alltrade tools). It's also designed to adapt to mandrel upgrades. Feel free to modify this design but please note that it's intended for non-commercial use. If you're interested in a separate license, contact me directly. Check out my video at https://youtu.be/Z6N5WAULoEM Instructions: I printed mine using PLA with 0.2 layer settings and 33% infill. If you're concerned about PLA melting, remember that overheating your drill bit is likely to occur anyway (so don't forget to quench the bits in water if they get too hot at the tip).
