Drill Bit Mount

This is my Stage 2 submission for the Autodesk ReMake #DesignByCapture competition. Please also see my Stage 1 entry here. STAGE 2 SUBMISSION After a wildly successful 3D generation of my cordless drill using Autodesk ReMake, I decided to give it an upgrade. Over the years, I have lost and misplaced more drill and screw bits than I care to admit. I am also tired of rummaging through my disorganized mess of a tool box. So, I wondered... 'What if my drill had bit storage?' DRILL BIT MOUNT The Drill Bit Mount includes twelve clips that securely hold drill bits, screw bits, pencils, and more right on my drill. Because the generated 3D model of the drill was so accurate, I was able to design the Drill Bit Mount with a solid press-fit. With a little force, the Drill Bit Mount slides over the rear of the drill and stays firmly in place while you work. Now I can store my screw and drill bits right on my drill so they are always available when I need them, and never lost. When I am done with a bit, I just pop it back into its clip. MADE FOR 3D PRINTING To make the Drill Bit Mount, I exported the model generated by Autodesk ReMake into Autodesk Fusion 360. From there, the entire design was created with Autodesk Fusion 360 including exporting the STL file for printing. The Drill Bit Mount prints exceptionally well: - Prints as 1 piece - no assembly - 100% 3D Printed Design - no external components - Prints without any supports - no post-processing - Prints in any basic material (PLA, ABS) The print shown in the photos is exactly how it came off the print bed of my Ultimaker. Used Innofil brand PLA. There was no post-processing. It looks beautiful. FEATURES The Drill Bit Mount features: - Grills positioned to overlay all of the drill's vent holes to ensure proper ventilation - Keeps all buttons, switches, and moving parts on the drill unobstructed - Twelve clips for drill bits, screw bits, pencils, and more. The center clip on each side can accommodate extra-long bits or pencils as shown in the photos. - Secure press fit holds the Drill Bit Mount solidly on the drill without any fasteners or adhesives
