Drill bit holder
thingiverse
This DIY project is designed to make working on everyday tasks around the house a whole lot easier. You'll need it when you're tackling projects that require multiple screws and drill bits. It's a simple box with a hinged lid that has holes in the front for holding your drill bits, as well as a belt hole where you can slide your belt through. This nifty tool can hold up to six drill bits and accommodate three-inch screws. The lid and box are separate files, so you can customize them separately. The rod used in this project is a 1/8 inch metal dowel rod. After printing it out, I realized that it was pretty small, so if you want to store larger bits, I recommend scaling up the object. There's also some space between the hinges, which I filled with tiny nuts to keep the rod from moving around. To be extra safe, I threaded a screw into each side of the hinge to prevent the rod from falling out. The holes in this tool are designed for various sizes of drill bits. The first and fourth holes can fit up to 3/16-inch bits, while the second and fifth holes can accommodate 10/64-inch bits. Meanwhile, the third and sixth holes can hold up to 1/8-inch bits. While these holes aren't meant to hold the largest bits, they'll still get most jobs done efficiently.
