Driftwood with Ball
thingiverse
This abstract form resembles driftwood due to its unique grain pattern, making it visually appealing from various angles thanks to multiple view ports. For one print, I applied an oil-based paint marker to color the ball black. An updated version features black PLA printed material, sanded for a smooth finish and then coated with spray paint before gold accents on the ball for a Japanese lacquerware effect. To recreate this design, use ReplicatorG software with MakerBot Replicator2 and settings such as 10% infill, 0.200 layer height, one shell, 40 feedrate, 55 travel feed, 220 temperature for white MB PLA.
