I designed and printed these bumper retainers to prevent my Falcons front bumper from getting ripped off again due to a concrete bump stop installed backward. They use M5 Riv Nuts in the panels and M5 Bolts with a dome Phillips head and a flat bottom section with some M5 lock washers. Additionally, I used clear 3M double-sided tape under the printed parts for extra security. Be cautious not to over-tighten the riv nuts in the plastic panels as they will tear out. Instead, thread them onto the riv nut tool threads until they start to come loose, then insert into the drilled hole and crimp. The ones in the metal panels can be tightened a bit more, so thread them on about 2mm further before crimping. I had originally used rectangular retainers made from flexible filament for about a year, but they eventually gave way and needed to be replaced. To fix this issue, I redesigned the retainers for printing in PLA, keeping the same hole spacing and number of holes. This allows them to fit seamlessly over existing ones. For added strength, you can use up to a 6mm zip tie. To install these retainers, start by using one or two 6mm Zip ties around each circle, then add another zip tie around the middle section to act as a tensioner, effectively turning the circles into figure eights. All donations are greatly appreciated; I'm currently saving up for a new car.
