Phillip King PRA is a renowned British sculptor born on May 1, 1934. As one of Anthony Caro's most accomplished students, he shares a unique bond with his mentor despite their near contemporaneous careers. Following similar educational paths and working alongside Henry Moore as assistants, both artists rose to prominence in the art world. In 1966, their artistic trajectories converged when they were featured together in the groundbreaking exhibit "Primary Structures" at New York's Jewish Museum, showcasing British influence on the burgeoning "New Art" movement. Almost five decades later, King's work was showcased at the Royal Academy's exhibition on Modern British Sculpture in 2011, highlighting pivotal moments in British sculpture throughout the twentieth century.
