This is a print bed suitable for PLA printing. Using waterproof sandpaper reduces double-sided tape's exposure to filament heat compared to previous versions. Remixed From: Stops warping of ABS & Nylon prints, Enjoy it! by Chris918 printing ABS on Jeans textil BED (Without A Heated Bed) by Medelis Da Vinci Cura Settings - repetier 0.92 by tecan Requirements: High adhesive strength double-sided tape is needed. Waterproof sandpaper (around 400 grit) is required for smooth results. PVAc glue is essential for a strong bond. Steps to Prepare the Print Bed: 1. Place double-sided tape on a glass or acrylic plate. 2. Remove the peeling layer from the double-sided tape. 3. Apply waterproof sandpaper to the double-sided tape. 4. Paint PVAc glue onto the waterproof sandpaper. 5. Spread and flatten the PVAc glue with a ruler or palette knife. 6. Allow the PVAc glue to dry completely. PLA Printing Settings: 1. Adjust the distance between the print bed and nozzle to prevent over-sticking. 2. A suitable distance will allow PLA filaments to stick easily, yet peel off cleanly. ABS Printing Considerations: 1. Small 3D models are recommended for printing to avoid failed prints. 2. The distance between the print bed and nozzle should be set to an optimal value to ensure proper adhesion. Heated Bed Settings: 1. If using a heated bed, set it to a lower temperature than the heatproof temperature of double-sided tape. 2. This will help prevent the PVAc layer from peeling off from waterproof sandpaper. Slicer Settings: 1. Use a thick double-sided tape for better adhesion. 2. Adjusting the nozzle distance from the print bed on the slicer side saves time and effort. Slic3r Settings: 1. Printer Settings -> General -> Size and coordinates -> Z offset to adjust nozzle distance. 2. This setting will help ensure proper print bed alignment. MatterSlice Settings: 1. SETTINGS -> Printer -> Print Area -> Z offset to adjust nozzle distance. 2. This setting will also ensure proper print bed alignment. Continuous Printing from Skirt to Raft: 1. MatterSlice can print continuously from the skirt to the raft, ensuring a perfect first layer. 2. This feature reduces the likelihood of failed prints. Notes on Drying and Rafting: 1. PVAc glue takes 1-2 days to dry naturally or quickly with a fan, but may attract dust. 2. When drying with a heated bed, set it to a lower temperature than the heatproof temperature of double-sided tape. 3. The surface of the dried PVAc layer is uneven and requires rafting for proper adhesion. Dealing with Peeling: 1. Cut off the peeled PVAc layer between waterproof sandpaper and PVAc glue. 2. Apply new PVAc glue and dry it to maintain a strong bond.
