I needed a jig for precisely cutting rigid coax cable, and even the manual commercial units are ridiculously expensive, so I designed this tool to attach to a Dremel. It can accept up to an 8mm piece of round stock/pipe/cable. I designed it around the Dremel SpeedClick disk (with some room for wear) which works well but any cut off disk would work as long as there is enough depth. Print instructions Note: This is a complicated build which requires precise printing and potentially frustrating assembly process Extra materials Some 3mm shaft. A rotary tool with a standard (3/4 - 12UN) attachment thread 5x 683ZZ bearings 2x M3 20mm cap head screws and nuts 6x M3 10mm cap head screws A 9mm x 35mm compression spring. 1) Print all the things. 2) Cut some 3mm shaft. You need 2x 13mm, 1x 6mm and 1x 60mm. The short ones need to be as precise as you can make it so they are flush with the edges of the print. 3) Buy five 683ZZ bearings. These are 3mm ID, 7mm OD and 3mm wide. 4) Connect the holder parts together with a small 8mm piece of filament in the small indexing hole and using the 60mm piece of shaft to hold the other side in place. Optionally glue them together. 5) Insert the 13mm shafts into the first side of the holder block so they don't go all the way through. 6) Mount one bearing into the small clamp piece using the 6mm shaft. 7) Insert the clamp part into the holder so that it slides freely. Then install 2 bearings per shaft on the holder which should keep the clamp from falling out. 8) Insert an M3 nut into each of the two slots of the clamp and cutting adjustment. 9) Screw the legs into the main attachment body with M3x10mm screws. Don't over tighten and strip the thread, but if you do there's some extra clearance for a longer M3 screw. 10) Press the holder into place so that only 5mm of the 60mm shaft protrudes from the holder for the backing plate. 11) Screw the backing plate into place and install the spring. 12) Insert the long M3x20 mm screws into the two adjustment holes.
