Dremel Mount for Velleman K8400
thingiverse
Thanks to hexxter, I modified his design to create a mount for my K8400. This mount is engineered to securely hold a Dremel for etching or engraving anything that a Dremel can handle. My Dremel of choice is the Dremel 4200, but this design can be easily adapted to accommodate any kind of Dremel or DC motor capable of holding a drilling or engraving bit. Print Settings: Printer: Velleman K8400 Rafts: They don't matter at all. Supports: Yes, they're essential for stable prints. Resolution: 0.25 mm is the optimal setting for precise prints. Infill: A solid 20% infill ensures strong and durable prints. Notes: These are the settings I used for my initial print, feel free to adjust them as needed: -temp: 190 degrees Celsius for ideal print quality -First layer resolution: Set it to 0.35 mm for a smooth base layer -layer resolution: Opt for 0.25 mm for crisp details and textures -Raft: While I didn't need one, consider using it if your prints frequently stick to the build platform. Post-Printing: Remove Support Material with Ease Here's what I did: I used a sharp, thin knife to carefully separate the support material from under the hole for the Dremel. Then, I employed my trusty Dremel to smooth out the surface and edges. Sandpaper can also get the job done, but using a Dremel is definitely easier. Design Process: How I Created This Design I simply measured the circumference of the Dremel handle with a caliper and recreated it using 123D design.
