Update August 26, 2022 : Added files for larger diameter (50mm) Dremel 4000 and similar. See print instructions for more details.Update August 29, 2022 : Although the files in the above update work, I decided that some minor improvements were needed to strengthen the area around the camp screw (increased the “tab” size slightly, and enlarged the socket for the nut to reduce the chance of cracking). See print instructions for more details. This is a simple print to use for mounting a Dremel tool to a lathe toolpost, typically for use as a toolpost grinder . There are two versions of this print, either to work with an AXA QCTP toolpost by directly clamping to the toolpost, or by clamping in a ½" tool holder. The version which clamps in a ½" toolholder will likely work with some other types of toolposts as well.Although not as rigid or as powerful as a true toolpost grinder, this can still be very useful for some lathe grinding operations. This works with Dremel Models 285, 395, and similar models with a 47mm diameter cylindrical section (see photos). The clamp on this print requires an M5x20 socket head screw and nut.No added support material is required to print these, but the QCTP version does have built in supports that need to be removed after printing.Use InstructionsSimply slip the Dremel tool into the clamp, and tighten the clamping screw. Be sure to position the clamp so that it does not block the vent opening in the Dremel tool. The Dremel can be inserted into the clamp from either direction, depending on how you want to position the Dremel in relation to your workpiece.Print InstructionsPrint in PETG using the 3mf or gcode files provided. Print with the “cylinder end” down on the print bed.For the QCTP version :4 perimeters15% rectilinear infillNote that this version has two small triangular built in supports in the dovetail area; these need to be cut out with a razor knife. For the toolholder version :16 perimeters0% rectilinear infillUpdate August 26, 2022 : Added version 04C files for Dremel 400 and similar tools with a 50mm diameter. Only the toolholder version was added for this size.Update August 29, 2022 : The version 04C files have been replaced with version 05C for Dremel 4000 and similar tools with a 50mm diameter. Only the toolholder version was added for this size. Note that the print parameters have also been updated.
