Micro-lathe is a great addition for Dremel enthusiasts. A rail slider system has been implemented to allow easy mounting of lathe pieces of varying lengths, secured by screwing the main part onto a piece of wood or another material. This innovative design requires the new wider and reinforced blocks, not compatible with original parts. Tool and bearing fixtures have been upgraded for better fitment in bearings without any risk of slipping around. All nut holes have been enlarged to accommodate #4-40 nuts & bolts due to unavailability of M3 at local hardware stores. The slide locks and lathe mount block screw-in piece holders utilize #6-32 1/2" bolts. Key design changes from the original include: * Adjusted bearing block for a snug fit with 608 bearings, which are removable. * Improved bearing fitting to perfectly accommodate a 608 bearing. * Reinforced bases and extended blocks for enhanced stability and easier mounting with larger screws/bolts. * Threading added to the threaded Dremel block version, along with reinforcement to securely attach the 4200. This custom micro-lathe is being utilized in the following ways: * A Dremel extension sheath was carefully screwed into place but resulted in a slight crack in the plastic. A potential solution could involve enlarging the hole, reinforcing it, or using a tap suitable for cutting this size thread. * The user initially struggled to connect their Dremel 4200 but successfully employed a sanding bit that fit snugly into the original Dremel fitting and secured it permanently with an acetone smoother. Future plans include: * Development of a vacuum nozzle/mount for improved dust control. Print settings have been optimized for ABS, yielding excellent results without warping. The specified parameters are as follows: Extruder at 230C, heated bed at 110C, 30% infill, standard raft, 0.2MM layer height, and 3600mm/min speed. The only piece requiring support is the main_rails.
