Dremel Idea Builder Filament Rod
thingiverse
I'm excited to offer my first model to the community! Update: I've uploaded a longer rod for wider filaments - look for the taller spool mount and adapters in other uploads. A near exact replica of the Dremel Idea Builder's included rod is now available, but this print will need supports. For that, AutoCAD123 Mesh Mixer software works great to generate them automatically! Visit http://www.123dapp.com/meshmixer. I've also included an .stl file with built-in supports for a vertical print, making it easier than ever to create this design. Keep in mind: if you plan on using larger filaments, raise the filament holder accordingly to prevent jams. Stay tuned for updates - spool adapters and raised holders are coming soon! Instructions: Print vertically at .30 microns with bare minimum supports. Don't bother with horizontal prints yet - they haven't produced great results so far! Try 2 shells first; it's done wonders, while 3 shells might just be the ticket. A moderate infill of 15% looks stunning without unnecessary extra bulk. Boost infill to heavier materials or personal taste preferences, though 15% works nicely in many situations.
