Dremel Flex Shaft QuickFix Mount
thingiverse
The Dremel Flex Shaft can be effortlessly mounted onto the RepRap using a quickfix mounting support. This same support is also utilized in Prism 1.5 for easy attachment and detachment of extruders on carriages. Attach your Dremel Flex Shaft to the mounting support, and you can switch between your extruder and milling tool within seconds, provided you have the right carriage. The quickfix part is also adaptable for standard M4 50mm extruders on dedicated quickfix carriages. To install: print two separate pieces according to their respective STL files; attach them using two CHC M3-20 screws, two D3 washers (ring), and two M3 nuts as per the designated holes in each piece. Remove the quickfix extruder from the carriage by unlatching it. Mount the Dremel Flex Shaft by screwing it into the mounting support. Now, your RepRap is ready for milling operations! If you wish to switch back to additive printing, simply change the tools on dedicated quickfix supports and insert them in the respective carriages. Feel free to share your experience of using RepRap as a milling tool once you've tested it out.
