Dremel CNC USB-C PD Upgrade

Dremel CNC USB-C PD Upgrade

prusaprinters

This is an upgrade for jour Dremel CNC to get rid of jour powerbrick and use a USB-C PC adaptor. Therefor you need a USB-C decoy board, which can be found on Aliexpress.Print all the parts. The tollerances on the board holder should be large enough to work without support. Slide the board and nuts into the holder and screw it on the new case. If you want you can also print a new lid with a cheat sheet on the inside.I recommend using the 20V setting to get the biggest selection of voltages. The board is automatically regulating to 15V/12V if the wall adaptor isn't support 20V. All three voltages should be fine with the CNC shield. Please note The USB-C port is oly used for power, you still need the USB-B port for the communication. My case is moddified to fit my needs (8,5mm hole for DC connector, missing upper left screwhole for arduino and bump for DC connector, adjustet USB hole for Arduino). There file name ends on _mod. If you used the original plans from Nikodem, please use the files ending _unmod. Both cases are 3mm taller than the original. The new lid with the cheat sheet is optional and shouldn't be printed if your printer has problems with tight gaps (the table lines are 0.5mm in with). The old one will still fit.Other parts needed:1x USB-C decoy board2x M3 nuts2x M3x8 screwssome cable and solderPrintingcase: PETG; 0,3mm DRAFT, support possible but not requiredother: PETG; 0,2mm SPEED, without support.LegalThe case and lid is a remix of the Dremel CNC by ‘NikodemBartnik’ puplished on indystry.cc and thingiverse under Creative Commons-Attribution (4.0 International License).
