I mounted my Dremel onto my Root2 40x40 CNC machine and wanted laser crosshairs for accurate aiming, so I redesigned the mount for the laser. The laser has a diameter of 12 millimeters. I used a 650nm red laser diode with adjustable focus to get it working correctly. Using GRBL, I simply connect the laser to the coolant output to switch it on and off. It can be connected directly to the coolant enable pin. I offset the laser 30mm on the X-axis so after sighting, I just move the X-axis 30mm left then zero. That's it.
