Dremel Bottle Cutting Jig

Dremel Bottle Cutting Jig

thingiverse

This is a jig for cutting glass bottles over the sink. I've been using this method for about two years now, and it's proven to be far more reliable than scoring the glass then subjecting it to hot and cold water to crack the bottle. Running tap water onto the bit helps keep the glass dust at bay. Update 7/6/2019: I added a Dremel Flex Shaft adapter, which not only keeps the Dremel tool from getting wet but also provides more clearance for cutting short glasses out of tall bottles. Requirements: Dremel rotary tool Diamond wheel bit One inch diameter wooden dowel (cut down to the appropriate width for the sink) Recommended: Diamond sanding pads (for softening the sharp edge of the glass after cutting) Eye protection Particulate filter mask Acetone (for cleaning off the glue from removed bottle labels) Dremel Flex Shaft Print one of "dremel dowel mount.stl" or "dremel flex shaft dowel mount.stl" Print one of "bottle tray dowel mount.stl" Print two of "dowel end sink brace.stl" Print two of these "G-Clamp fully printable" by johann517 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1673030
