Dremel Blade Sharpener Remix
thingiverse
I wanted to create a super basic blade sharpener attachment for my Dremel clone rotary tool. I came across SonOfSparta's design on Thingiverse and liked its simplicity right away. However, I use a cheap Chinese Dremel clone from the Powerplus brand, which uses an M19x2 thread, so I had to recreate the original file with the correct thread size. I gave it a much smaller opening hole at the top because all I had available was a 6mm grinding bit at the time. I also added an internal chamfer to make it easier to print standing upright without support. Finally, I made it slightly taller to fit my rotary tool better and slightly wider to guide longer blades more easily through it. The two sharpening angles are 15 and 25 degrees. This design was created from scratch in Fusion 360, but it's heavily based on SonOfSparta's design, so I listed it as a remix. There are obviously better ways to sharpen blades, but for a quick and simple print, this has worked well for me.
