Dremel 3d45 and 3d40 Amazon Filament Adapter
thingiverse
Amazon filament has been replaced by Overture filament, which shares the same manufacturer and spools. This option comes with a price reduction and enhanced quality compared to its predecessor. Overture (formerly Amazon PETG and PLA) offers an affordable solution that works seamlessly in Dremel printers but faces a compatibility issue due to non-standard spool dimensions. I have devised a workaround for this challenge. To adapt the Overture spools to fit into your machines, follow these steps: 1. Carefully score around the edge of the Overture spool three times using a sharp knife, applying gentle pressure. 2. Holding the knife firmly against the ridge, rotate the spool in both directions until it snaps off cleanly on both sides. Alternatively, you can print specialized adapters to secure the wider spools within your machine: 1. Print two Dremel door adapters with adjustable tension, ensuring a snug fit while allowing for easy removal. 2. To prevent filament wastage and improve print quality, use gradual infill settings and add supports as necessary. Another option is to utilize my Amazon to Dremel spool adapter, which offers a seamless integration between the two systems. To achieve optimal results, I recommend using Overture PETG on stock Dremel PETG settings or Overture PLA with Dremel ECO-ABS settings. This setup yields excellent prints with minimal adjustments needed. This solution is currently in development and may undergo refinement as more experience is gained. However, it has proven effective in its current form.
