The drone propeller was created using a unique design inspired by the Drela AG27 airfoil. I built and tested it on the Drone Propeller Thrust Testing Jig, which yielded impressive results that can be seen below. The part was printed slowly with a 0.2mm extruder nozzle at 0.04mm layer height. A Precision Knife helped me clean up the print. Next, I finished the part using 400 grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth finish. Here are the voltage presets and their corresponding readings: - 1.5V produced 12.71 grams - 2V resulted in 20.88 grams - 2.5V generated 28.45 grams - 3V yielded 34.68 grams The included files consist of all relevant pictures, six text files containing the airfoil coordinates used in the build, printable STL files, and SLDPRT files. If you decide to print this propeller, make sure to obtain a reliable 8520 coreless motor. You can use the SLDPRT files if you want to adapt the model to suit your specific needs. The airfoil was plotted using the matplotlib library in python.
