Dream catcher wildebeest skull

Dream catcher wildebeest skull

My daughter has a fascination with intricately carved cow skulls and dream catchers, so I combined these two interests for her Christmas gift. I selected three unique designs: "snowflake 8 sides" by Trigubovich, feather by octomo, and blue wildebeest by p3ddp. To create the skull, I used Simplify3D to divide it into two parts horizontally, essentially slicing it in half. This allowed me to print each section separately using Z offset to generate a top half with supports. Next, I rotated the second part 180 degrees and printed the bottom half of the skull. There are likely other approaches that can be used for this process. To make assembly easier, I added square pins to the horns and matching sockets on the skull. These will provide a secure point for gluing the two parts together. The skull shown in the image was printed at 160% scale.
