DRB Class 52 'Kriegslok' Steam Engine
cults3d
The Deutsche Reichsbahn Class 52 'Kriegslok' (war locomotive) was a workhorse without equal in the era of German steam locomotives. In need of a strong, dependable freight locomotive to match their nation's economic and military ambitions, the DRB penned an evolution of the proceeding 1'E (2-10-0) Class 50. The resulting locomotive was both more powerful and radically simplified for wartime production. In total, nearly 8,000 examples were constructed, ranking it the third most produced class of steam engine ever built. Capable, rugged, and simple to maintain and operate, the Class 52 outlived their expected lifetimes by a considerable margin and were among the last steam locomotives retired worldwide, with the last units only being withdrawn from service in 1988. This new v1.2 version update features all new boiler detailing, a new K4T30 Steifrahmentender, overall revised dimensions, and an improved running gear arrangement. It also comes with a 2'2' T30 Wannentender and 40 different variations of front headlamp, numberplate, and smoke deflectors. This is a model of a German steam locomotive suitable for wargaming in 15mm scale. It has been designed to be printable on any standard FDM printer, such as the Ender 3. For rails, it is compatible with TT-scale 12mm gauge track, which is the same dimensions used by Battlefront Games' railway scenery. Derivation from any real-world prototype has been done for ease of printing or durability in handling for tabletop wargaming.
