Introducing a new idea that requires further development, Ivan shares his innovative design for a drawer system. The back spring opens the drawer by overcoming a friction force of 30mm at Force3. A front plate attached to the drawer via a front spring and switch is designed to close it; applying Force1 equal to Force2 triggers an electric signal that locks the driver's side. Ivan proposes using a load cell or front spring + front plate switch instead. The barrel lock also serves as a blocker for oversized packages. Limit switches detect closed positions and barrel lock states. However, moving cables with the drawer may pose a challenge, currently solved by folding it on the left side. Ivan hopes to present a fully detailed design soon with 3D files and renderings, featuring a hidden low-cost locking mechanism for complete drawer extraction.
