This design focuses on human-machine communication for oversized parcels, addressing the lack of consultation and clarity in existing parcel locker systems. The proposed solution involves translating size instructions into drawer design, displaying oversized warnings to users, and automating opening/closing motions. A piston-like mechanism allows side panels to retract for oversized parcels, while a limit switch notifies the computer of the movement. For security, sensors in the Drive unit trigger an alarm when force is applied to the drawer. An alternative vertical movement version accommodates over-height packages by lowering the bottom platform and displaying warnings on the side panel. The design features increased human-machine communication, electronic response if needed, purely mechanical construction with commercial parts, and sheet metal forming for 90% of the components.
