Drawer Box Jig for 3/4" wood
thingiverse
I installed a cabinet and counter in my kitchen after adding new flooring and changing the layout of the space. The ideal size cabinet was a sink base with a large blank panel where the sink should go, so I wanted to build an oversized drawer for this area. Not experienced with cabinetry beyond refinishing and installing hidden hinges, I wasn't sure how to ensure a perfect square drawer - although not new to 3D printing, I quickly came up with these corner jigs and had a set of four printed within the hour (low quality, high quality not being necessary). For my drawer box, a butt joint was sufficient, and lacking many woodworking tools, it worked fine. However, a miter joint would also be effective in this situation. I glued the edges and used these brackets in all four corners. To add extra support, I placed two brads in each corner, just to make sure it held together properly - checked with a square and everything was square. I let the drawer box dry overnight and finished the installation today. This oversized drawer could be repurposed for other uses as well with a 3/4 inch board.
