The Gear ratio enables you to use smaller, lighter motors while maintaining the same pushing force as a standard non-geared extruder. For direct drive systems this means a significantly lighter carriage, with less inertial mass, greatly improving print quality. For Bowden systems running a standard sized motor means the Drakon becomes an incredibly powerful extruder with all the power you'll ever need to get your filament where it needs to go. In both Direct Drive and Bowden configurations you get the reliability and peace of mind to know that it's not your extruder that's going to fail.\nEnhanced Resolution\nBy increasing the gearing to 3:1, this triples the resolution, which can effectively mitigate filament being extruded in pulses at slow speeds, resulting in a wavy surface finish, to give you an exceptionally smooth surface finish. Note: This will not help other mechanical issues such as Z Wobble or Z Banding.\nExtensive Materials Compatibility\nThe Drakon has a fully supported filament path, which means it can print anything from flexible filaments, Carbonfills, metal fills and the hardest of filaments and beyond.\nThe Universally Easy-to-Use Design\nThe Drakon strips down quickly with no need to remove the motor from its mounting, loosen the 3 bolts and just remove it from its mount. Remove the 8mm nut and bushing and that's it, highly easy to maintain, should you need to take it apart for any reason. The Tensioner window allows you to easily see and set the tension quickly and precisely with no fuss. Easily mounted on a Direct Drive system as well as a Bowden.\nAssembly Video\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO8r4zXFYHI\nDemo\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O43gTT2txT4\nInitially it only works with 1.75mm filament, but the 3mm will be available soon.\nThe License Agreement\nThis is licensed under the CERN OHL 1.2.\nCopyright AxMod 3D Print 2017.\nThis documentation describes Open Hardware and is licensed under the\nCERN OHL v. 1.2\nYou may redistribute and modify this documentation under the terms of the\nCERN OHL v.1.2.
