Drain Snake - Nylon

Drain Snake - Nylon

thingiverse

I built two drain snakes from scratch. I've already put the smaller one to use on my own sink with great success. Since its shape is circular, printing it in nylon followed by a process of straightening is necessary. Using Taulman Bridge Nylon worked perfectly for this application. The longer snake may require some reinforcement in certain areas to make it suitable for its intended purpose. In the end, I found that the shorter snake measured around 18 inches, which proved to be plenty long enough for any given task. One benefit of working with nylon is that even if one strand becomes lodged and twisting does nothing to help dislodge it, there's always the option to simply pull – as a result of this design choice, nylon remains resistant to breaking under such pressure, but the teeth can easily bend out of shape instead.
