Drain, sewer, duct camera mount for Linteater rods
thingiverse
This is a versatile mount designed to securely attach a low-cost endoscopic camera to Linteater duct cleaning flex rods, allowing users to capture high-quality video or photos of sewer lines, HVAC systems, and dryer ducts with ease. The mount accommodates cameras up to 9mm in diameter but can also work with similar sizes. To prevent the mount from coming loose during use, it is highly recommended that you apply tape at the threaded joints as an added safety precaution. Additionally, applying some tape around the camera and its wire will ensure a secure attachment to the mount. The rounded ends of the mount are specifically designed to help navigate through joints and tees with greater ease. I am currently working on adding another version to this design. While the small version may be suitable for tight spaces, my experience with Linteater rods has shown that they tend to bend, resulting in a less-than-ideal view. The larger version should provide better results and can fit within 3-inch pipes. If needed, you can resize it using your slicer for even larger pipes. I have since added fins to the larger version but have not yet tested it. For optimal use with sewer pipes, it is advisable to stick to mostly straight sections when using either of these mounts. Although Linteater rods are flexible, they are not as versatile as metal drain snakes. In my experience, using the small mount resulted in some friction and resistance at joints and turns, which may cause the camera to get stuck after navigating more than one or two turns. As an alternative solution, you can secure the camera directly to a snake by using zip ties or tape.
