Drain Rat Stop

thingiverse

I've been dealing with rats in my attic, and I was told they often crawl up through drains into the cavity walls and then into the attic space. To prevent them from getting in, I learned that metal rat blocks are available for purchase that fit into the drain to block rats while allowing waste to flow in the other direction. However, these devices can be quite pricey considering what you get, so I decided to make my own instead. While it's true a rat could potentially chew through plastic, at least then you'd know exactly where the issue is and could buy a stainless steel version without wasting money on a guess.
