I designed a folding knife from scratch using an old concept of mine. If this design takes off, I might come up with another one for fun. This is indeed my original creation. Made entirely in Sketchup - don't even think about judging me. No locking mechanism on this model; however, I'll tweak the design to include a lock and a flick-style opening feature. Update: I've printed out a prototype. There's definitely room for improvement. I enlarged the holes along the spine from 5mm to 2.5mm, then expanded the counterbores to 4.5mm. The spine is secured with five M4 x 6 socket heads tightened in place. Two M3x4 screws hold the clip in position. A 3.5mm hole runs through the main bore and even the belt clip. I inserted the blade, then used an M4 x 10 screw to secure it - maybe a length of 8mm would be better suited for this purpose. It's a tight fit but it works, and I love how mine turned out. Disclaimer: This folding knife is not intended as a weapon. Under no circumstances should you use this creation for self-defense or any other purpose that could lead to harm. If you decide to print this design, please do so responsibly and keep in mind the potential risks involved. If you create your own version of this knife, be sure to give credit where it's due - include my name in your posting. I appreciate it when people acknowledge their inspiration. Enjoy your folding knife safely!
