Vespidai, or blood wasps, are the flying mounts of Tyverian armies. Once a plague of dog-sized flying insects, vespidai were first culled and then bred by Tyverian insect masters, which trained them to serve as flying steeds. Now, nearly all extant vespidai are part of the Tyverian military. In combat, a vespida attacks with its deadly sting, which can paralyze and kill a humanoid creature in seconds. Their buzzing can be disorienting to animals or weak-willed enemies. Fortunately, they have become extremely rare in the wild; unfortunately, they are now present in every Tyverian air force. Vespidai are most often used as elite shock troops, using their incomparable speed and advantageous view of the battlefield to choose their targets and disrupt enemy forces.
