A long-awaited fulfillment of my dream, this 3D modeling project is my first attempt at creating a dragon. Lacking the knowledge and skills at the time, I was unable to bring my vision to life when I began learning 3D modeling. As a Rutgers University student under Dr. Aaron Mazzeo, I chose to depict an eastern dragon rather than a traditional knight's enemy, the western dragon. Eastern dragons are seen as benevolent beings associated with wisdom, prosperity, and power, contrasting with the destructive nature of their western counterparts. To capture this essence, I included these attributes on the model's pedestal along with other positive traits. Drawing inspiration from dragon statues and parade costumes, I incorporated a pearl - said to be a dragon's most precious possession - into the design. For best results, the model should be made using ABS plastic in a polyjet printer due to its intricate details.
