Dragon on a toolbox
thingiverse
Hello! This thing contains 2 personal works of mine that I decided to mashup together to serve both as display piece and as my work toolbox. First things first... Although I did not experience any major problems with this piece, I still consider this a WORK IN PROGRESS so print at your own risk. This was all printed along these parameters and materials: Brand-less: bronze PLA 195 nozzle / 60 bed 60mm/s (for the toolbox) - 30mm/s (for the dragon) .12 layer height (for the toolbox) .08 (for the dragon) Generally no support, no infill for the toolbox but I enabled bridging all throughout. Orientation-wise everything was printed upside down For the dragonling just protect the areas where the parts are supposed to connect. Add supports and infill according to your own judgment. 2-2.4mm thick walls (for the toolbox) 1.6mm thick walls (for the dragon) Overall size including the dragonling: 220x135x270 The mid-case of the toolbox can be reprinted and stacked as many times as possible. The handle and top detail parts of the box are meant to be attached by any adhesive agent that is not harmful to your material of choice. Do not be confused with the attached picture! That is just what my original design for the box looked like. The rendered images are what it's supposed to look like. As for post-process, I did sanding and then primed it with white matte paint and then painted it with metallic acrylics. For the toolbox, I tried a bit of pastel weathering. If time permits, I will be adding variations to the toolbox.
