Dragon Hotend BMG Rigid V6 Adapter
thingiverse
This adapter provides an alternative solution for the V6 part when using the Bondtech BMG on a Prusa MK3 and Triangle Labs/Phaeton Dragon hotend. It allows for bolted mounting, offering one-handed nozzle changes, but loses this benefit when used with the V6 adapter for compatibility with existing parts due to groove mounting. Bondtech's BMG SLS parts feature a small void beneath the stepper motor by the V6 grove on their front side. Adding a lip to the V6 adapter along this edge provides a firm edge that keeps the hotend in place during nozzle changes, ensuring a secure fit. Although not truly rigid due to only having one solid connection, this adapter is still capable of handling 2.5Nm of torque for tightening nozzles, making it suitable for use with printers. I have provided two versions of this adapter: one with M2x3x3.5mm threaded inserts and another with M2 thread integrated into the part itself. I personally use the threaded insert version on my own printers. The Customizer tool allows users to adjust settings such as the size of the threaded insert or change the threads within the print. However, I have not personally tested printing with threads, so any issues should be reported for further assistance. It's essential to note that the PTFE tube and collet must still be installed after printing, as they are not included in the demonstration picture provided.
