Dragon Head Bowl
myminifactory
With this sculpt, I've successfully combined my usual sculpting process with a product design twist. The inspiration came from a dragon head with its jaw wide open. Given it was my first "product design style" apart from the Octopus, I decided to create an object with two distinct functionalities: a small bowl for chocolate or fruit and a hanger for your jacket. For this second idea, I received valuable assistance from my colleague Mark Ledwold, who provided an optimized screw holder that I merged with my base for mounting on walls. The Zbrush workflow I followed was similar to the one I used in previous models: - Reference image and plan primary forms - Define the volume of the objects - Add secondary forms using dynamic, move, standard, hpolish, dam standard, curve tube, and form soft tools - Maintain a flat and clean base to create contrast between detailed parts and product ideas - Add details and adjust proportions - Optimize for printing without support This model can be printed without supports. However, I tested the support needs on this object, and Cura generated only a few thin supports that I cleaned by hand. As a final experiment, I purchased a packet of Lindt chocolate to test the usability of the product.
