We showcased our new NextEngine 3D scanner by creating a clay dragon head sculpture measuring 12 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide at its broadest point. The scanned file contains over 0.5 million polygons. As we are still learning to use the scanner, we plan to print the model using our upcoming Makerbot 2 (undecided between 2 or 2x models) and would love to see how it turns out. We also have a Han Solo in carbonite gift wrap for an iPad mini that we'll scan if there's interest. Please let us know your thoughts on these projects!
