Dragon Hatchling
thingiverse
This is one of my first purely sculptural pieces, inspired by an ostrich egg that I acquired about 20 years ago. To replicate this effort, you will need a real ostrich egg - although I've included one as an .stl file just in case. You'll also require some liquid latex and some sand, which can be found on Amazon. I have included a base to keep the egg from rolling around; it's not fancy, but purely functional. I recommend exploring the beautiful candle holders created by other Thingiverse artists for a stand of your own. Just remember that the eggs aren't perfectly cylindrical, so you may need to modify the top of the holder slightly to ensure stability.
