Dragon Egg Box

I am absolutely obsessed with dragons eggs, but I couldn't help wondering why they aren't more algorithmic in nature. After all, they're basically natural-ish creations. So, I decided to modify the algorithm I developed for flowers based on their 137.5 critical angle of petals and see what kind of results I could get. I started by using a flattened sphere as a scale model, which seemed like a great place to begin. However, when I tried using rotated cuboids and cylinders, I just wasn't satisfied with the outcome. But that's okay - I love experimenting with different numbers in OpenSCAD to see what kinds of eggs I can come up with. Perhaps a diamond-shaped egg would be the way to go? It seems like it could work really well as a display box for a small sculpture or ring. In fact, my friend has already expressed interest in using one of these eggs as a container for a light source and displaying it during LARPing events - sounds like a blast! To print out this design, I opted to create the base hollow and the top with 10% infill. Once I've finished painting the egg, I'll be sure to share some pictures with everyone.
